Mad Dash

Kids take off, MOTM Mad Dash 2010

2010 Mad Dash school winner announced

During our annual 5K & 10K fundraising event, we are hold a special challenge for all of Mebane!  A free 1-mile Mad Dash winds its way through the downtown area and is open to everyone, any age, and any speed!  The dash begins at 9:30 on Clay Street between 3rd and 4th.

Local public elementary school children have an added incentive for taking part. Mebane on the Move will donate money to schools with the highest participation – schools can use this to put towards health and wellness equipment and programming.

Schools will also have a chance at annual “bragging rights” by vying for the coveted Mad Dash Masters trophy! The school with the greatest participation (by percentage of students enrolled) wins the prize. Congratulations to E.M. Yoder for winning the 2011 and 2010 challenge by having the highest participation rate, and South Mebane Elementary for winning in 2009.

Registration for the Mad Dash will take place alongside the 5K and 10K, and will be open until 9AM.  Sorry, no online registration is available for this event.
